Senior Fullstack Engineer — Mobile Healthcare Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a healthcare technology startup in München that is building a clinical platform used daily in patient care settings. Our client needs a senior fullstack engineer who thrives in dynamic product environments and moves fluidly between backend services, mobile development, platform work, and healthcare system integrations as priorities evolve.

This is a hands-on technical role where you will architect solutions, direct AI coding agents to implement your specifications, and maintain production systems that handle clinical data. You will work across the entire stack—mobile UI, backend APIs, hospital integrations, and cloud and on-premise deployments—while ensuring code quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features across mobile (native iOS, upcoming Android/Flutter), backend services (Python, Go,.NET, Rust), and integration layers
• Own architectural decisions for the components you build: module boundaries, API contracts, data models, and technical rationale
• Use AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to generate implementations against your precise specifications, then review output with production-grade rigor
• Maintain a codebase that is readable and safe for both human engineers and AI tools: consistent conventions, well-named units, documented decisions, expressive tests
• Build and operate production services end-to-end: automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability, diagnosability
• Work with clinical data and healthcare interoperability standards in a regulated development process
• Produce technical documentation and evidence required for medical software compliance

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Several years of professional experience building and operating software in production, spanning both frontend/mobile and backend work
• Strong software architecture skills: decomposing problems into modules with clear contracts, managing dependency direction and state ownership
• Proven fluency with agentic AI development tools—you can describe your concrete workflow, where it breaks down, and which guardrails you maintain
• Specification and review mindset: you define "done" upfront, verify generated code rigorously, and catch missing edge cases
• Engineering fundamentals that transfer across stacks: concurrency, data consistency, networking, API design, relational databases
• Mobile development experience (Android or Flutter preferred), including app lifecycle, background execution, offline behavior
• Hands-on experience with containers, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Structured, quality-focused approach suitable for regulated environments
• Professional English; German is a strong advantage

Nice to Have:

• Healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7) or interface engines (Mirth, Rhapsody)
• DICOM and medical imaging workflows
• Regulated medical software or safety-critical industry experience
• On-premise or customer-managed infrastructure deployment experience
• AWS experience
