Senior IT & OT Systems Specialist (gn)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization with international operations, and our talent team is seeking a Senior IT & OT Systems Specialist to join their Hamburg location. In this role, you will serve as the central bridge between production environments, operational technology, and information technology systems.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Managing and continuously developing MES systems and production-related applications including their peripherals
• Analyzing new requirements from production facilities and implementing solutions in collaboration with internal and external partners
• Performing customizing and optimization of production-relevant systems
• Developing security concepts for a sustainable OT landscape alongside the security team
• Planning, coordinating, and implementing new systems and technical changes within the production environment
• Identifying opportunities for standardization, digitalization, and automation of international production processes
• Managing external service providers and maintaining comprehensive documentation of the system landscape

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• A degree in computer science, information technology, or comparable vocational training with relevant professional experience
• Several years of hands-on experience in production IT, OT, or industrial system environments
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and modern Industry 4.0 concepts
• Ideally, experience working with MES systems, OPC UA, or comparable industrial interfaces
• Enthusiasm for bringing together technical and functional requirements
• A structured, solution-oriented, and self-directed working style
• Excellent German and English language skills for collaboration in an international environment
• Willingness to undertake occasional international travel
