Senior iOS Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential aerospace technology organization seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to own the iOS application of a mature, widely-used consumer product. You will join a small, expert team building digital tools that blend artificial intelligence with aviation expertise.

In this role, you will:

• Develop scalable, high-performance features for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS
• Partner with designers to build intuitive UI/UX that follows platform best practices
• Refactor and modularize Swift and Objective-C code to improve quality and reusability
• Integrate RESTful APIs with efficient data handling and error management
• Manage the full app lifecycle, including builds, certificates, and App Store submissions
• Participate in code reviews and uphold best practices in architecture, testing, and Git
• Collaborate with backend engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure seamless end-to-end integration

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 3+ years of commercial software development experience, including full iOS app lifecycle management
• Experience writing both Swift and Objective-C
• Strong knowledge of SwiftUI, UIKit, and core Apple frameworks (specifically MapKit or similar mapping SDKs)
• Experience integrating REST APIs, with backend understanding to troubleshoot issues and contribute to API design
• Strong understanding of iOS build systems, provisioning, certificates, and App Store requirements
• Strong proficiency in Git

Bonus qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• Experience in aviation, network-driven application development, or working with Metal or OpenGL

This position is based in South East Hampshire. Certain positions may be eligible for visa sponsorship.
