About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential digital marketplace organization based in Sydney, Australia, for a Senior Data Analyst position on a 12-month contract (parental leave coverage). This role offers the chance to drive data-driven insights across a dynamic e-commerce platform, working closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Commercial teams.
Our client operates a hybrid working model from their Sydney CBD office, providing excellent access to public transport and a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop frameworks to present insights to the business and advise on potential product enhancements
- Analyze data, trends, and results, translating findings into measurable business impact for stakeholders
- Drive analysis of acquisition funnels to uncover insights and opportunities for growth
- Support cross-functional teams with data to inform use cases and requirements
- Contribute to user base growth by supporting segmentation strategies for customized experiences
- Facilitate, orchestrate, and measure the effectiveness of feature experiments and A/B testing
- Organize data findings and synthesize them with business results to form high-level recommendations
What We're Looking For
Essential qualifications:
- Data analytics experience within an e-commerce or technology company
- Experience working with enterprise data warehouses
- Advanced level SQL or equivalent querying language
- Strong working knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, or similar)
- Passion for data with the ability to digest complex datasets and communicate insights through storytelling
- Excellent communication skills with effective stakeholder management and conflict resolution abilities
Highly desirable experience:
- Marketplace or digital-native organization background
- Google Analytics and A/B testing for SaaS products
- Forecasting and statistical modeling
- ETL framework and ETL tools understanding
- dbt (Data Build Tool) or data modeling experience
- Intermediate Python programming
- Databricks or Snowflake platform experience
- Salesforce experience
- Tertiary degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Actuarial Studies, or related field
