Senior Content Manager SEO/AEO (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital automotive marketplace seeking a Senior Content Manager with deep expertise in SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO). In this role, you will drive organic visibility across traditional search engines, AI-driven search, and large language models while delivering editorial excellence and data-driven growth.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing a comprehensive content, SEO, and AEO strategy focused on organic visibility, user relevance, and measurable business impact
• Optimizing content for traditional search engines, AI overviews, generative search results, and large language models
• Identifying topic, keyword, intent, and content gaps along the customer journey and translating insights into actionable content initiatives
• Managing editorial roadmaps and content calendars for landing pages, guides, magazine articles, and other digital assets
• Creating, briefing, quality-assuring, and optimizing high-value content related to used vehicles and mobility topics
• Continuously improving existing content regarding relevance, structure, layout, internal linking, user experience, conversion, and technical discoverability
• Managing external agencies, freelancers, and content partners including briefings, feedback, quality management, and prioritization
• Collaborating closely with SEO technical, product, UX, and marketing teams to enhance user journeys from discovery through lead generation

What We're Looking For

• Multiple years of proven experience in SEO, content marketing, organic growth, editorial strategy, or comparable roles
• Demonstrated success developing and implementing content strategies with measurable impact on organic visibility, engagement, conversion, or lead generation
• Strong understanding of classical SEO principles plus working knowledge of AEO, AI search, generative engine optimization, and LLM visibility
• Experience planning, creating, and optimizing diverse content formats including landing pages, guides, articles, whitepapers, reports, or thought leadership pieces
• Strong analytical capabilities and hands-on experience with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Semrush, Ryte, Sistrix, or comparable SEO and analytics platforms
• Experience working with CMS platforms like Contentful, WordPress, or similar systems
• Structured, independent, and prioritization-focused work style with strong ownership mentality
• Excellent German language skills and fluent business English; additional languages such as Italian, French, or Dutch are advantageous
