Senior Consultant (w/m/d) Policy Monitoring & Reporting im Bereich Forschung und Innovation

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential policy research and consulting organization seeking a Senior Consultant for policy monitoring and reporting in the research and innovation sector. In this role, you will:

• Continuously monitor and analyze research and innovation policy developments, preparing insights for recurring reports, monitoring frameworks, and advisory formats for public sector clients
• Process, communicate, and visually present statistical data and indicators related to research and innovation systems
• Create, coordinate, and ensure quality control of audience-appropriate reports, studies, and presentations for both specialist audiences and the general public—from concept through independent empirical work to final stakeholder alignment
• Manage projects including time and resource planning within teams, steering coordination and interface processes with clients and cooperation partners

What We're Looking For

• At least four years of relevant professional experience in policy consulting and/or evaluation; experience leading project teams and managing secretariat functions is desirable
• Experience acquiring consulting and contract research projects for organizations in the public policy space
• Proven ability to manage complex coordination processes with multiple stakeholders from the research context, such as federal and state ministries or research organizations
• Strong knowledge of the German research and innovation landscape and current policy debates in these areas
• Experience creating evidence-based reports and preparing/communicating statistical data in research and innovation; knowledge of innovation indicators and research statistics is advantageous
• Excellent editorial and communication skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly, objectively, and in a target-group-appropriate manner
• Completed degree in a relevant field with solid empirical methodology skills; independence combined with an analytical, reliable, and team-oriented working style
• Willingness to undertake occasional business travel (including international); very good German and English language skills, additional languages advantageous
