(Senior) Consultant Sustainability Advisory | Climate Tech startup

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing climate tech organization based in Munich that is transforming how industrial companies manage their carbon footprint. Our client works with major industrial manufacturers across Europe to turn sustainability targets into measurable business outcomes.

As a Senior Consultant in Sustainability Advisory, you will own client engagements from scoping through delivery, helping industrial companies navigate decarbonization strategies and regulatory compliance. This is a high-impact role where you'll see direct results in both emissions reductions and business performance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end billable advisory engagements including scoping, hypothesis-driven analysis, quantification, and client presentations to Head-of and C-level stakeholders
• Lead smaller engagements independently and drive key workstreams on larger projects
• Develop and grow the advisory pipeline by converting conversations into scoped opportunities and writing winning proposals with clear approach, scope, and pricing
• Help productize the advisory offering by transforming recurring client questions into repeatable, priced packages with defined deliverables and timelines
• Serve as the sustainability subject matter expert on EU regulations (CBAM, CSRD, EUDR, EU ETS), Scope 3 methodology, and decarbonization strategies
• Support sales activities including deal narratives, workshops, and customer sessions
• Bridge software and advisory services by incorporating platform outputs into advisory work and feeding client needs back to product teams
• Maintain operational discipline including time tracking, pipeline management, and project margin oversight

What We're Looking For

• 3-6 years of experience in a consulting environment with sustainability as your core focus
• Deep knowledge of carbon accounting and decarbonization (Scope 1/2/3) with ability to explain commercial implications to clients
• Strong understanding of EU climate regulations including CBAM, CSRD, EUDR, and EU ETS
• Proven experience owning client-facing workstreams: problem structuring, business case quantification, and executive-level presentations
• Demonstrated contribution to proposals and pitches, understanding both deal execution and deal-winning strategies
• Consulting-standard proficiency in PowerPoint/Google Slides and Excel/Sheets with hypothesis-driven storytelling capabilities
• Strong ownership mentality with proactive problem-solving approach
• Humility and direct communication style, comfortable admitting mistakes and moving forward
• Adaptability to startup environments with ambiguity and rapid change
• Business-fluent English required; business-level German strongly preferred as the client base is predominantly DACH-region focused

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive with the market for senior sustainability consultants in Munich. Our client offers an attractive package including equity participation.
