Rocket Lab Corporation is seeking a Senior Compensation Partner for its Long Beach, CA headquarters to lead compensation strategy across the organization, reporting to the Director, Total Rewards.

About This Position

In this strategic role, you'll be instrumental in shaping how Rocket Lab attracts, motivates, and retains world-class talent. You'll partner directly with leadership and the People & Culture team to develop and execute compensation programs that align with business objectives while maintaining competitiveness in the market. This full-time position based at our Long Beach headquarters provides the opportunity to influence decisions that impact our entire global workforce.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with People & Culture leadership and business stakeholders to guide hiring, promotion, reorganization, and annual compensation decisions
  • Design and maintain compensation frameworks, including job leveling and salary structures across the company
  • Conduct competitive market research and develop analytical models to inform compensation positioning
  • Participate in industry benchmarking surveys and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Create training and communication resources for recruiters, HR teams, and managers on compensation practices and philosophy
  • Evaluate emerging compensation tools and technologies to enhance program effectiveness
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive total rewards initiatives and long-term strategies
  • Review and approve individual compensation decisions for new hires and internal moves
  • Support regulatory compliance and audit requirements related to pay equity
  • Partner with Finance and IT on process optimization and system improvements
  • Present recommendations and analysis to executive leadership

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on compensation analysis and administration experience plus a bachelor's degree, or 12+ years of total professional experience in human resources or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience leading market research and competitive benchmarking analysis
  • Expert-level Excel proficiency, including data model development and complex financial analysis
  • Strong analytical foundation with the ability to translate data into strategic insights
  • Experience managing compensation strategies within corporate environments or consulting settings
  • Knowledge of compensation law, pay equity regulations, and equity program design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven environments
