Senior Category Management Executive

Careem, the leading super app across the greater Middle East, is recruiting a Senior Category Management Executive to join its fast-growing Groceries division in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Position Summary

This role sits within Careem's Groceries team, which is revolutionising quick-commerce across the region by delivering fast, reliable shopping experiences. You'll partner with experienced Category Managers to build optimal product ranges, set competitive pricing, and craft campaigns that balance customer satisfaction with commercial performance. Your responsibilities will span the entire category lifecycle—from discovering new products to monitoring real-time market dynamics and identifying growth opportunities. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who combines operational excellence with genuine passion for grocery retail and is committed to developing their expertise in category management within an inspiring, fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support category strategy execution by aligning assortment, pricing, and promotional initiatives with broader business objectives.
• Evaluate and onboard new suppliers, maintaining detailed product information, cost data, promotional calendars, and communication protocols.
• Monitor category performance through sales trends, pricing competitiveness, stock turnover, and availability metrics; escalate risks and opportunities proactively.
• Develop and co-ordinate weekly and monthly promotional campaigns in partnership with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Manage product catalogue accuracy—ensuring listings, descriptions, images, and specifications are current and compelling on the app.
• Work closely with supply chain and logistics partners to streamline new product launches and replenishment schedules.
• Conduct competitive and trend analysis to spot emerging categories, validate pricing benchmarks, and anticipate customer demand shifts.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers through regular check-ins and periodic business performance reviews.

Skills & Qualifications

• 4–5 years of demonstrated experience in retail, quick-commerce, or e-commerce category or commercial roles.
• Deep familiarity with the UAE market—supplier networks, seasonal buying patterns, quality standards, and local preferences.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-team co-ordination skills with a sharp commercial mindset.
• Methodical approach to work with strong time management and organisational discipline.
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; experience with business intelligence platforms or reporting dashboards is valued.
• Proven analytical mindset with fluency in KPIs, margin dynamics, and category performance measurement.
• Genuine enthusiasm for grocery retail and commitment to building long-term expertise in category management.
• Self-motivated with a learning mindset; thrives in fast-moving, collaborative environments.
