Senior Architectural Technologist – Wokingham

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential data centre infrastructure organization seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their Design Engineering office in Wokingham, Berkshire. This is a critical technical role supporting the delivery of mission-critical facilities through detailed design and construction phases.

You will work within a multidisciplinary environment, translating design concepts into coordinated, buildable technical packages for complex, highly serviced buildings. This position requires strong technical delivery skills, advanced Revit proficiency, and proven experience coordinating MEP-intensive projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design and technical packages from RIBA Stage 3 through Stage 4 and into construction
• Translate architectural concepts into fully coordinated technical information, including construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Support preparation of tender information and contractor packages
• Provide construction-stage support (RIBA Stage 5), including responding to RFIs, reviewing contractor proposals and shop drawings, and resolving on-site technical challenges
• Coordinate complex interfaces between architectural, structural, and MEP systems within highly serviced environments
• Apply knowledge of mission-critical design principles, including integration of MEP systems, coordination of plant spaces and service zones, and understanding of resilience and operational requirements
• Ensure designs accommodate technical constraints and highly serviced environments
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary consultants to ensure design integration and compliance with relevant standards and codes
• Maintain high levels of quality control and document accuracy
• Identify and resolve clashes through proactive coordination using Revit and BIM workflows

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years' professional experience as an Architectural Technologist or Technician in the UK or similar regulatory environment
• Proven track record delivering projects through RIBA Stages 3–5
• Demonstrable experience working on data centres or other highly serviced, complex buildings
• Strong technical knowledge of construction detailing, materials, and building systems
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM coordination tools
• Excellent technical and detailing capability with strong understanding of buildability and construction processes
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
• Effective communication skills when working with consultants, contractors, and internal teams
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines
