Senior Accountant

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Financial Reporting and Accounting function in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA-qualified professional with US GAAP expertise to work in a high-growth payments environment, supporting US entity accounting from a UK base.

You'll be responsible for maintaining financial statement integrity, executing general ledger accounting, and ensuring regulatory and tax compliance across multiple US jurisdictions. This role offers the chance to build scalable financial processes in an innovative global business.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close routines including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany reconciliations under US GAAP
• Prepare accurate balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances
• Monitor daily bank movements and perform bank reconciliations across multi-currency accounts
• Support quarterly and annual US federal, state, and local tax filings (corporate income tax, sales and use tax, commercial rent tax) working with external tax advisors
• Serve as key point of contact for external auditors, preparing audit schedules, documentation, and workpapers
• Support implementation, optimization, and automation of financial systems and internal controls (SOX readiness)
• Partner with Payroll, FP&A, Accounts Payable, and Global Finance teams to streamline cross-departmental reporting

What We're Looking For

• ACA qualified (or equivalent) with demonstrated experience working under US GAAP standards
• Relevant accounting experience, preferably gained in practice
• Solid command of US GAAP principles, financial statement consolidation, and intercompany accounting
• Hands-on experience with mid to enterprise ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Workday Accounting)
• Advanced Excel capabilities including VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and Pivot Tables
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical capability
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
