Security Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential computer vision technology company seeking a Security Engineer to join their distributed Infrastructure Team. This role offers the opportunity to own security across an entire modern cloud stack, from low-level infrastructure configurations to high-level application logic.

Our client is a fast-growing organization serving over 1 million developers worldwide, including teams at major Fortune 100 companies. As a key member of their Infrastructure Team, you'll build the tooling, automation, and architecture that enables secure development at velocity.

Responsibilities

• Own security across the entire stack, from Kubernetes clusters on Google Cloud Platform to SaaS integrations and developer workflows
• Build internal tooling and CI/CD automations that catch vulnerabilities before production deployment
• Lead threat modeling sessions and secure code reviews to ensure "secure-by-default" APIs and deployments
• Harden authentication and access control across all internal and external surfaces using first-principles approaches
• Proactively probe for vulnerabilities through red team exercises and lead remediation efforts
• Stand up, launch, and manage the Bug Bounty Program, including triaging reports and driving remediation
• Investigate vulnerabilities, lead incident response, orchestrate penetration testing, and run blameless postmortems that drive systemic improvement
• Partner with engineering teams to translate complex security risks into actionable tasks
• Articulate and execute a security vision appropriate for modern AI-driven development environments

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering with deep security expertise
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environments (100-300 person organizations)
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and containerized environments
• Track record of responding to real-world security incidents and leading remediation without blocking progress
• Systems thinking ability to analyze weaknesses across business logic, IAM configurations, and codebases
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and modern CI/CD workflows
• Action-oriented mindset with a history of writing code to solve security problems, not just identifying them
• Ability to prioritize effectively when multiple urgent issues compete for attention
• Strong communication skills to evangelize security practices across engineering teams

Location: Remote across Europe and USA. The company has hubs in New York City and San Francisco with flexible work arrangements including remote, hub-based, or co-working options.

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai will be determined based on experience and market data, with the client's target range for this position from $165,000-$200,000.
