SAP Procurement & Supply Chain Transformation Consultant – Life Sciences Germany

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential life sciences organization seeking a talented SAP Procurement & Supply Chain Transformation Consultant to join their team in Munich, Germany.

In this role, you will drive procurement and supply chain transformation initiatives for pharmaceutical and biotechnology operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing procurement operating models and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance, supplier collaboration, and business value across direct, indirect, and R&D-related spend categories
• Designing future-state procurement processes, governance models, and organizational capabilities while developing business cases and transformation roadmaps
• Analyzing and optimizing Source-to-Contract, Procure-to-Pay, Supplier Management, and Category Management processes
• Identifying opportunities to leverage automation, analytics, AI, and digital procurement capabilities to drive working capital improvements and supplier performance
• Supporting implementation and optimization of SAP procurement solutions, including SAP S/4HANA Procurement and related platforms
• Translating business requirements into scalable process and technology designs across integrated procurement systems
• Collaborating with Quality and Supply Chain functions to strengthen risk management and supply continuity, particularly with contract manufacturing partners
• Monitoring trends across procurement transformation, supplier ecosystems, sustainability, and AI implementation
• Developing reusable methodologies and industry perspectives while mentoring junior team members

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience in procurement and supply chain
• Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated industries
• Experience across Source-to-Pay, Supplier Management, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, or Procurement Operations
• Familiarity with SAP procurement capabilities, including SAP MM, SAP S/4HANA Procurement, or related solutions
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into process and technology transformation initiatives
• Understanding of procurement data, analytics, supplier performance management, and procurement governance
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
• Experience supporting business transformation and technology-enabled change programs
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, Information Technology, or related field

Preferred qualifications:

• Direct experience within pharmaceutical or biotechnology procurement organizations
• Knowledge of direct materials procurement, external manufacturing, clinical supply procurement, or supplier quality management
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business Network, SAP IBP, or SAP BTP
• Familiarity with contract manufacturing operating models and supplier collaboration processes
• Experience identifying and implementing AI, GenAI, or Agentic AI use cases across Source-to-Pay and Supplier Management processes
• Experience assessing supplier risk, business continuity, and procurement resilience strategies
• Understanding of ESG and sustainable procurement practices
• Experience working in global delivery environments
• MBA, MSc, CIPS, APICS, or equivalent professional qualifications
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
