Safety Specialist| Park Hills, MO

HazTek Inc. is looking for a Safety Specialist in Elvins, Saint Francois County to strengthen safety protocols and compliance across our commercial construction operations. This is a full-time position where you'll make a measurable difference in protecting our workforce and ensuring every team member returns home safely at the end of each day.

Position Summary

As Safety Specialist at HazTek Inc., you'll serve as a safety leader and compliance advocate across our construction sites. You'll develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs that align with industry standards and federal requirements. Your work will focus on hazard identification, risk assessment, and fostering a workplace culture where safety is embedded into every operation and decision.

Core Duties

• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and areas for improvement
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for construction crews and contractors
• Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and accidents; document findings and implement corrective actions
• Manage safety documentation, records, and compliance reporting requirements
• Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure safety protocol adherence
• Monitor equipment maintenance, personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance, and job site conditions
• Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and participate in ongoing safety reviews

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on safety experience in commercial construction or industrial settings
• Valid OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety credential
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and construction best practices
• Ability to read and interpret safety plans, building codes, and regulatory requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication and training abilities
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational and documentation skills
• Availability for on-site work and occasional travel as project needs require
