Safety, Health & Environment Sr Manager

AECOM is seeking a Senior Manager, Safety, Health & Environment for our Grand Central, Manhattan office. This is a full-time position where you'll lead critical safety and environmental initiatives for one of the world's largest infrastructure consulting firms.

About the Role

As Senior Manager of Safety, Health & Environment at AECOM, you'll oversee and drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety, occupational health, and environmental programs across the organization. Working from our Grand Central location, you'll partner with project teams, operations, and leadership to embed best practices, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. Your strategic guidance will shape how AECOM delivers on its commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship across infrastructure consulting and delivery projects.

What You'll Do

• Develop and refine safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards
• Oversee incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
• Lead training programs and awareness initiatives to foster a strong safety culture
• Monitor regulatory compliance and advise on changing environmental and occupational health requirements
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to identify and control workplace hazards
• Report on safety metrics, performance trends, and outcomes to senior leadership
• Mentor and develop safety professionals within the organization

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive safety, health, and environmental management experience
• Proven track record in a senior leadership or management capacity
• Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant regulatory frameworks
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and executive audiences
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or equivalent preferred
• Experience in consulting, infrastructure, construction, or large-scale project environments
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
