Anthropic

Anthropic is seeking a Safeguards Enforcement Analyst, Integrity & Authenticity to work full-time in a remote-friendly capacity with offices in San Francisco, New York City, and Washington, DC. In this role, you'll develop and implement enforcement frameworks that prevent the misuse of our AI systems for inauthentic campaigns, electoral interference, and surveillance-related harms.

About This Position

Anthropic's mission centers on creating AI systems that are trustworthy, interpretable, and aligned with human values. Protecting users from platform abuse is essential to that vision. In this Integrity & Authenticity safeguards role, you'll construct enforcement mechanisms and detection strategies to combat a range of threats: AI-enabled disinformation and influence operations, electoral manipulation through AI, and the abuse of our systems to surveil, profile, or target individuals and groups.

Your work will span the full enforcement lifecycle—from identifying emerging threats to reviewing incidents, refining policy applications, and collaborating with technical teams to improve automated detection. You should expect exposure to diverse and sometimes disturbing content, and availability during evenings, weekends, and major electoral periods when escalations may arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate enforcement systems and review workflows that maintain accuracy while operating at scale
  • Partner with Engineering and Data Science teams to enhance detection algorithms and strengthen automated safeguard mechanisms
  • Evaluate flagged incidents to drive enforcement decisions and inform policy iterations
  • Execute policies targeting AI-fueled influence operations, coordinated inauthentic networks, election interference, and the targeting or surveillance of individuals or groups
  • Deliver concrete observations to our policy team by identifying real-world gaps and complex enforcement scenarios
  • Stay current on emerging threat tactics, policy enforcement methodologies, and the regulatory landscape around electoral security, privacy, and surveillance

Who We're Looking For

You'll bring professional experience in trust & safety operations, policy enforcement, threat analysis, or a closely related domain, with deep knowledge of one or more focus areas: influence operations, disinformation, coordinated inauthenticity, election integrity, or privacy and surveillance harms.

  • Demonstrated success launching or scaling policy enforcement or content review operations
  • Hands-on capability with SQL and data analysis platforms for extracting insights from large-scale datasets
  • Ability to surface emerging threats and present risk findings to cross-functional audiences including Product, Policy, Engineering, and Legal teams
  • Working knowledge of generative AI systems, including designing effective prompts for enforcement and content evaluation
  • Familiarity with the operational and technical realities of enforcing policies at massive scale
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience in a relevant field

Additional valuable expertise: investigating coordinated campaigns across multiple platforms, open-source intelligence (OSINT) methods and tools, privacy legislation and surveillance technologies, deep technical understanding of language models and synthetic content generation risks, electoral security frameworks and standards, regulatory knowledge in domains such as the DSA, EU AI Act, FEC requirements, and GDPR, prior work with election authorities or nonprofit integrity organizations, Python programming for data analysis and automation, or dark web investigation and threat actor monitoring.
