Zillow is hiring a Full-Time Remote Mortgage Loan Officer based in Remote-IA. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled loan officer to work with borrowers across Iowa and provide expert mortgage lending guidance from a fully remote environment.

What This Role Involves

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Zillow, you'll guide borrowers through the entire mortgage process, from initial consultation to loan closing. You'll evaluate applicant financial situations, explain mortgage products, and help clients select loans that match their needs and budgets. This is a client-facing role that combines financial expertise with genuine customer service, enabling homebuyers and refinancers to navigate one of their most important decisions.

Core Duties

• Interview prospective borrowers to assess financial status, credit history, and loan eligibility
• Explain mortgage products, interest rates, terms, and conditions in clear, accessible language
• Prepare accurate loan applications and required documentation
• Review credit reports and financial statements to determine loan qualification and terms
• Process and track loans from application through closing
• Maintain professional relationships with real estate agents, title companies, and underwriters
• Stay current with lending regulations, interest rate changes, and product offerings
• Meet performance metrics and loan volume targets

Who We're Looking For

• Valid mortgage loan originator license (or willingness to obtain one in Iowa)
• Proven experience as a mortgage loan officer or in direct mortgage lending
• Deep knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and closing procedures
• Strong sales ability paired with ethical, borrower-focused communication
• Comfort with CRM systems, loan origination software, and digital documentation
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for evaluating applications
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting team goals
