About the Role

As a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse in Oncology 7A at Mercy Springfield, you'll be a vital member of our specialized cancer care team. You'll provide direct patient support, work collaboratively with physicians and specialists, and coordinate comprehensive care that honors each patient's rights, dignity, and confidentiality. This full-time oncology nursing position allows you to develop expertise in cancer treatment while building meaningful relationships with patients navigating their care.

What You'll Do

• Deliver direct patient care using evidence-based nursing practices and clinical assessment
• Administer medications and therapeutic treatments ordered by physicians
• Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and treatment responses throughout shifts
• Evaluate patient conditions and communicate clinical findings with the healthcare team
• Manage patient comfort through pain control and side effect mitigation strategies
• Educate patients and families about their diagnosis, treatment plan, and self-care at home
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient medical records
• Work with interdisciplinary departments—including oncology specialists, social work, and support services—to coordinate integrated patient care
• Provide emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families coping with cancer treatment
• Uphold professional nursing standards and institutional protocols that safeguard patient safety

What We're Looking For

• Active Missouri RN license or graduate nurse credentials
