Registered Nurse Cardiac Rehab at Ascension in Meridian Hills, Marion County.

You will support patients recovering from heart conditions through supervised exercise, education, and personalized care plans within the Ascension St. Vincent Cardiac Rehabilitation program.

About the Role

As a member of the cardiac rehab team, you will work closely with physicians, exercise specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, evidence‑based rehabilitation services to individuals managing cardiovascular disease.

What You'll Do

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, including vital signs, functional capacity, and medical history review.
• Design and implement individualized exercise prescriptions tailored to each patient’s diagnosis and goals.
• Monitor patients during exercise sessions, promptly recognizing and responding to any signs of distress or arrhythmia.
• Provide education on heart‑healthy lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, stress management, and risk factor reduction.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to adjust care plans and communicate progress to referring physicians.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintain a clean, safe environment for all participants.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education to uphold best practices in cardiac rehabilitation.

What We're Looking For

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Indiana.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Experience in cardiac rehabilitation, telemetry, critical care, or a related cardiology setting is advantageous.
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and vital sign trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for educating diverse patient populations.
• Commitment to patient safety, compassionate care, and teamwork.
• Ability to work a flexible day‑shift schedule that includes occasional Saturday rotations.
