Registered Nurse Ortho Neuro Trauma

Ascension St. John Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Ortho Neuro Trauma unit in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This full-time nursing position offers the opportunity to provide skilled, compassionate care to patients recovering from orthopedic, neurological, and trauma-related injuries during night shift operations.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse specializing in orthopedic and neuro-trauma care, you'll deliver evidence-based patient care across the unit's night shift. This role combines hands-on clinical expertise with patient advocacy, helping individuals navigate critical phases of recovery after surgery and injury.

What You'll Do

• Monitor patient vital signs, pain levels, and post-operative progress with meticulous attention to clinical detail
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established nursing protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, neurologists, physical therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document comprehensive patient assessments, interventions, and clinical responses in the electronic health record system
• Educate patients and families about injury management, mobility assistance, and discharge planning
• Respond promptly to patient needs and potential complications, particularly during night hours when staffing is reduced
• Maintain safe, sterile care environments and adhere to infection control standards

What We're Looking For

• Current Oklahoma RN licensure in good standing
• Demonstrated experience in orthopedic, neurological, or trauma nursing strongly preferred
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills to recognize subtle changes in patient condition
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse clinical teams
• Ability to manage multiple patients with competing priorities in a dynamic care environment
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development
• Capability to work night shift and maintain alertness during overnight hours
