About the Role
This is a full-time position as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse in our Associate Travel Program, working in fast-paced acute care hospitals within the Ascension network. This travel nursing role offers schedule flexibility, with shifts available across multiple time periods to match your preferences. You can expect 36-48 hours per week, with opportunities to work in different Ascension facilities and geographic areas based on staffing needs and your availability.
What You'll Do
- Assess, monitor, and provide direct patient care in the emergency department setting
- Respond to acute patient needs and medical emergencies with clinical expertise
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Document patient interactions and maintain comprehensive medical records
- Educate patients and families about their conditions and treatment plans
- Adapt quickly to new hospital environments and protocols during travel assignments
What We're Looking For
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the relevant state(s) where you'll work
- Minimum 1-2 years of emergency department nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
