About the Role
As a Public Relations Assistant at SkillBridge Academy, you'll play a key role in building and maintaining our organization's reputation and public presence. You'll support the entire lifecycle of our PR initiatives—from planning and strategy to execution and measurement—working closely with leadership and media partners to communicate our mission and impact to stakeholders, the press, and the community.
What You'll Do
- Assist with media relations, including drafting press releases, pitching stories to journalists, and maintaining media contact databases
- Prepare communication materials such as newsletters, social media content, web copy, and internal messaging
- Coordinate events and manage logistics for press conferences, community gatherings, and public-facing programs
- Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to track brand reputation and identify emerging opportunities
- Support crisis communication planning and response when needed
- Gather data and develop reports on PR campaign performance and media outreach
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across channels
What We're Looking For
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional demeanor and the ability to represent SkillBridge Academy with confidence and integrity
- Familiarity with media platforms, press release formats, and basic PR practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Proactive problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
- Experience with social media, content management systems, or communications tools is a plus
