Professional Services Engineer

Position Overview

We are representing a confidential IT services organization seeking a Professional Services Engineer to join their team remotely in the Eastern Time Zone. This is a regular, full-time exempt position reporting to the Professional Services Manager.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the engineering and technical execution of client projects, addressing workflow optimization, scheduling, and proper implementation of all project elements. You'll establish inspection criteria and ensure technical excellence across diverse IT infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define project requirements, scopes, and deliverables for client engagements
• Design, develop, and implement IT infrastructure, systems, and software solutions based on project specifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including system architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and user manuals
• Collaborate with project teams to develop strategic action plans and cost estimates for materials, time, labor, and resources
• Facilitate and contribute to project planning and design processes
• Assess vendor competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status
• Monitor project progress and compare actual costs against estimates
• Recommend and analyze materials, equipment, and best practices for project implementation

What We're Looking For

• Minimum five years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or related technical fields
• Advanced experience supporting, deploying, and configuring Azure and AWS cloud platforms
• Advanced experience with server and networking hardware
• Advanced experience supporting, deploying, and configuring networking equipment including firewalls and switches
• SharePoint configuration and deployment expertise
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Excellent high-level engineering skills and technical problem-solving abilities
• Customer-oriented approach with solid business acumen
• Proven track record of meeting performance goals year over year
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities
• Strong budgeting and cost containment skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic understanding of ISO 9000 design requirements
• Adaptability across various business cultures and environments
• Ability to travel up to 40% as needed for client engagements
