Medical Reception (After Hours)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential medical practice based in the United States. We are seeking an experienced After-Hours Medical Receptionist to provide remote support during evening hours. This is a fully remote independent contractor position where you will serve as the first point of contact for patients calling outside of normal business hours.

This role is ideal for professionals with medical reception, patient scheduling, or healthcare call center experience who excel in fast-paced environments and are comfortable managing high call volumes while delivering compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming patient calls in a professional and friendly manner
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using practice management systems
• Respond to patient enquiries and direct calls to appropriate team members
• Take accurate messages and escalate urgent matters according to established protocols
• Update and maintain patient information in electronic systems
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA compliance guidelines
• Deliver an outstanding patient experience on every interaction

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Administrator, Patient Coordinator, Intake Specialist, or Healthcare Call Centre Agent
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation and professional telephone etiquette
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment
• High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Experience using EMR/EHR systems or medical scheduling software is highly advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Empathetic, patient-focused approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Excellent multitasking abilities and dependable work ethic
• Able to work US overnight hours consistently (evening/night hours depending on your timezone)
