Product Support Advisor – Dairy, Chemical, & Beverage – USBL – US

About This Role

We are representing a confidential foodservice distribution organization seeking a Product Support Advisor specializing in Dairy, Chemical, and Beverage categories. This position supports our client's operations across New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, working remotely within the United States with minimal travel requirements (approximately 5%).

In this role, you'll serve as the critical link between sales teams, suppliers, and customers, managing product assortment strategies and driving category performance. You'll execute corporate initiatives while maintaining strong local supplier relationships and supporting sales staff with product knowledge and training.

Responsibilities

• Execute category management initiatives within assigned Dairy, Chemical, and Beverage product lines
• Manage and promote local product assortment to achieve business objectives and high customer order fulfillment
• Serve as primary liaison between planners, suppliers, brokers, sales teams, and customer service
• Conduct supplier reviews and negotiations using established best practices
• Negotiate supplier-funded customer pricing and manage earned income programs
• Facilitate product training sessions and provide guidance to sales specialists
• Support inventory management including product discontinuation and depletion processes
• Drive promotional activities and selling events for focus categories
• Manage new item and vendor creation processes
• Collaborate with revenue management teams on pricing integrity and market cost analysis
• Provide market commodity and industry updates to the sales organization

What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in retail, wholesale, or distribution environments
• Strong supplier negotiation skills with ability to build professional relationships with suppliers and brokers
• Proven ability to manage conflict and reach resolution through facts and dialogue
• Excellent multi-tasking abilities in fast-paced environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate across all organizational levels
• Proactive problem-solving approach with strong organizational and planning capabilities
• Experience driving merchandising change and executing standard processes
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
