Principal Software Engineer – Python

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for a Principal Software Engineer - Python to join as a founding member of a new AI-driven product team. This is a remote opportunity based in the United States.

Our client is building a next-generation platform that will transform how life sciences companies manage critical operations. You'll have the unique opportunity to influence architecture and engineering culture from the ground up, working on a product that applies AI in genuinely innovative ways to problems that matter. Within your first year, you'll see live customers using what you've built.

Responsibilities

• Own complete feature implementation lifecycle from design through deployment, production support, and maintenance with daily code contributions using AI-assisted development
• Collaborate with Product Management and Development teams on technical design and problem-solving to deliver high-quality solutions
• Analyze complex technical problems rapidly, identifying knowns and unknowns to accelerate paths to robust solutions
• Define, promote, and mentor team members on engineering best practices and coding standards, including modern AI-assisted engineering approaches
• Provide comprehensive code reviews for engineers across all experience levels
• Develop engineering talent through structured mentorship programs

What We're Looking For

• 12+ years of proven software development expertise with production-level Python development required
• Extensive experience developing high-scale enterprise SaaS cloud applications
• Proven track record architecting and building high-volume products at scale
• Hands-on development experience with current open-source tools and technologies including Python, Git, FastAPI, and Pydantic
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate team performance, fostering growth and excellence
• Highly driven and adaptable in fast-paced startup environments
• Strong work ethic with high integrity and honesty
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Unrestricted right to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
