Principal Engineer, AI Architect

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential enterprise conversational AI organization seeking a Principal Engineer, AI Architect to join their fully remote US-based team. Our client is at the forefront of generative AI innovation, powering conversational interactions at massive scale for leading global brands.

This is a senior technical leadership role reporting directly to the Head of Architecture. You'll shape the AI vision for next-generation conversational products, working alongside innovation teams and fellow principal engineers to push the boundaries of what's possible with generative AI technology.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build next-generation conversational AI products leveraging cutting-edge generative AI technology
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, establishing technical direction and best practices
• Partner with product leadership to shape requirements and translate vision into scalable solutions
• Design cloud-native architectures that are resilient, scalable, and production-ready
• Integrate advanced AI tools and services, driving adoption across engineering teams
• Champion engineering excellence through comprehensive test automation and quality-first delivery

What We're Looking For

• 13+ years building full-stack applications with Java and Node.js (Python and Vue.js are a plus)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Communications, or related field
• 7+ years designing and architecting enterprise-grade SaaS products
• 5+ years shipping AI products to production environments
• Deep experience with cloud platforms (GCP experience is a plus)
• Proven track record leading engineering teams as a technical expert
• Background in data analytics and reporting tools, especially for contact centers and conversational analytics (nice to have)

Pay

The client offers a salary range of $190,000 - $210,000 USD annually, determined by location, skills, experience, education, and professional certifications. This is a fully remote position with flexible work arrangements.
