Principal AI Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology services organization in their search for a Principal AI Engineer based anywhere in LATAM. Our client is a fast-moving product development firm that has pivoted heavily into AI-native engineering, helping partners across multiple industries integrate cutting-edge AI systems into production environments.

This is a 100% remote role. You'll work closely with leadership to define technical standards, drive innovation, and ensure AI initiatives deliver measurGet A Job.ai business value. Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of production AI systems that solve tangible business problems for client partners
• Set technical standards and best practices for AI/ML across the organization and partner engagements
• Build applications and proofs of concept hands-on, working at the spec and acceptance layer of an AI-native engineering model
• Identify market opportunities where AI can create commercial impact and drive adoption of new technologies
• Consult with partners and prospects to understand their business challenges and propose AI-driven solutions
• Provide coaching and mentorship to internal teams and partner teams, enhancing AI capabilities through knowledge sharing and training
• Continuously explore and implement cutting-edge AI frameworks, tools, and methodologies

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 12+ years building AI/ML systems with production experience shipping and operating them at scale
• Deep fluency with the modern LLM stack: frontier models, RAG, vector databases, agentic frameworks, evals, and guardrails
• Experience operating in a spec-and-harness model, leveraging agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) at the spec and acceptance layer
• Proven track record leading large, complex technical projects
• Hands-on experience integrating ML and generative models with web and mobile applications
• Ability to inspire and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders and non-technical audiences about AI opportunities
• Strong skill connecting business challenges to AI solutions and articulating value clearly
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Ideally, prior experience as a Technical Founder, Co-founder, or founding engineer at an AI company

Nice to Have:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on AI and Machine Learning
• Experience with MCP, graph-based retrieval, or multimodal pipelines

Pay and Benefits

Pay details will be discussed during the screening process. Compensation is paid in USD.

• 40-hour work week with availability during normal business hours as needed
