Pre-Owned Service Technician

Hendrick is seeking a Full-Time Pre-Owned Service Technician to join the team at the Mall of Georgia Mazda location in Buford, Georgia.

About the Role

As a Pre-Owned Service Technician, you will be responsible for evaluating used vehicles, determining the services they need, and carrying out repairs and maintenance to ensure each car meets Hendrick’s quality standards before it reaches the lot. You’ll work closely with service advisors and parts specialists to deliver reliable, safe vehicles to customers.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough inspections of pre‑owned vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic issues.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake services, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, suspension, and drivetrain concerns using factory‑approved procedures.
• Document all work performed on repair orders, including parts used and labor times, in accordance with Hendrick’s service protocols.
• Collaborate with the service advisory team to provide clear explanations of needed repairs and estimated completion times.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.
• Stay current with Mazda‑specific technical training and Hendrick’s internal best‑practice guidelines.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an automotive service technician, preferably with a focus on used‑vehicle preparation.
• Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work efficiently with both hand tools and computerized equipment.
• Familiarity with Mazda service procedures or a willingness to learn brand‑specific standards.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with teammates and customers.
• Commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced dealership environment.
• Ability to lift heavy components, stand for extended periods, and work in a shop setting.
