Pre-K Teacher (1 position) (2026-2027 School Year)

North Plainfield School District invites applications for a full-time Pre-K Teacher position beginning the 2026-2027 school year at West End Elementary School. This is an exciting opportunity to shape early learners' development in our vibrant, multicultural educational community.

About the Role

We're seeking an engaged Pre-K educator who will create a nurturing, literacy-rich classroom environment where our youngest learners thrive. You'll lead a diverse group of preschool students through play-based learning, building foundational academic, social, and emotional competencies that prepare them for kindergarten success.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with pre-K standards in literacy, numeracy, science, and social-emotional learning
• Create an inclusive classroom culture that celebrates cultural diversity and respects individual learning styles
• Build positive relationships with families through regular communication and engagement opportunities
• Assess student progress through observation, portfolios, and informal assessments to guide instruction
• Collaborate with special education staff, English learner specialists, and support personnel to meet diverse student needs
• Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery
• Participate in professional development, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree and state teaching certification or eligibility for Pre-K/Early Childhood certification
• Experience working with preschool-age children and families from diverse backgrounds
• Strong understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning approaches
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction to support all learners
• Enthusiasm for fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning
• Commitment to inclusive, equitable educational practices
