We're building an iconic observability company that fundamentally changes what's possible for developer and SRE teams: the ability to process far more observability data at a fraction of today's cost. This is made possible through a unique and fundamentally new architectural approach to systems design that challenges conventional assumptions about how observability platforms should be built.
About the Role
As a Founding Engineer (Distributed Systems), you'll lead the design and implementation of the distributed systems and core infrastructure that power Oodle's platform. Working directly with the founding team, you'll own critical architectural decisions, establish technical direction, and build the systems that form the foundation of everything else we do.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement distributed systems architecture that forms the backbone of Oodle's observability platform
- Build and optimize high-performance data pipelines capable of processing massive volumes at low cost
- Make foundational technical decisions around system architecture, data storage, replication, and processing infrastructure
- Collaborate with founders and other founding engineers to establish technical standards, practices, and long-term vision
- Own the end-to-end development of critical systems components from architectural design through production deployment
What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise in distributed systems design, implementation, and operation at significant scale
- Strong background in systems programming and data processing architecture fundamentals
- Proven track record building reliable, performant, production systems that operate at scale
- Experience working as a founding engineer, early technical leader, or in similar foundational engineering roles at startups
- Genuine passion for systems engineering challenges and commitment to shipping great systems in a fast-moving startup environment
