About This Position
As a Phlebotomist II at our Fayetteville, AR facility (7 E Appleby Rd), you'll perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for patients visiting for routine screening, diagnostics, and specialized testing. Working Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, you'll be a trusted member of our clinical team, maintaining the highest standards of patient care and specimen integrity. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to infection control and safety protocols that protect both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples using venipuncture and capillary collection techniques
- Greet patients professionally and explain collection procedures to reduce anxiety
- Label, prepare, and process specimens for transport to the laboratory
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient and specimen records
- Follow strict infection control and safety procedures at all times
- Ensure the collection area is clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Respond promptly to patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy
Qualifications
- Current phlebotomy certification or licensure as required by Arkansas
- Demonstrated experience in phlebotomy or patient services, preferably in a clinical setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work accurately under time pressure and handle multiple priorities
- Knowledge of bloodborne pathogen protocols and standard precautions
- Reliable transportation and availability for the scheduled hours
- High school diploma or equivalent
