About the Role
As a Patient Care Assistant in our Observation Unit, you'll support our nursing team by providing direct patient care and comfort. Observation Unit patients are typically monitored for short-term assessment and management, requiring vigilant, responsive support during night hours. What You'll Do
- Respond promptly to patient requests and needs, ensuring comfort and safety
- Assist nursing staff with essential patient care activities including hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and report observations to nursing staff
- Help with vital signs monitoring and patient documentation under supervision
- Support admissions and discharge processes
- Maintain clean, safe patient environments and assist with equipment
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability and willingness to work night shifts reliably
- Physical capability to assist patients safely
- Strong communication and compassionate patient-care skills
- Prior patient care experience preferred (nursing homes, home health, or clinical settings)
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Team-oriented mindset with attention to detail
