As a DXA Technologist at Penn Medicine, you'll play a vital role in early detection and monitoring of bone health conditions. What You'll Do
- Perform high-quality DXA scans following standardized clinical protocols and quality assurance standards
- Position patients safely and explain procedures to ensure comfort and compliance
- Maintain detailed scan data and imaging records in electronic health systems
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance personnel
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and infection control procedures
- Communicate scan findings to radiologists and physicians as appropriate
- Support clinical colleagues across the diagnostic imaging department
What We're Looking For
- Current DXA technologist certification (ISCD or equivalent) or registry eligibility
- Radiologic technology (ARRT) certification preferred
- Hands-on experience operating DXA equipment
- Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift patients and equipment, standing for extended periods
- Commitment to quality imaging and attention to detail
- Experience with electronic medical records systems
