Penn Medicine seeks a Financial Analyst to join our Surgical Outpatient Operations Finance team in Philadelphia County. This full-time role, based at William Penn Annex East, offers a critical opportunity to support financial planning, analysis, and cost management within one of the nation's leading academic medical centers.

About the Role

As a Financial Analyst in our Surgical Outpatient Cost of Operations Finance function, you'll partner with clinical and operational leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights. You'll contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring for surgical outpatient services, supporting both operational excellence and financial sustainability across Penn Medicine's clinical enterprise.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, analyze, and monitor departmental and program budgets for surgical outpatient operations
  • Perform variance analysis, comparing actual financial results to forecasts and budgets
  • Support financial forecasting and scenario modeling for operational planning
  • Gather, validate, and analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for leadership review
  • Collaborate with clinical, nursing, and administrative staff to understand operational needs and financial drivers
  • Support cost analysis and efficiency initiatives across surgical outpatient service lines
  • Maintain financial data systems and documentation standards

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or healthcare finance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial data systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Familiarity with healthcare operations, financial terminology, or budget management is a plus
