About the Role

As a Patient Access Representative at South University Orthopedics, you'll deliver the hospitality and professionalism that define Sanford Health's patient-first approach. Working day shifts in a fast-paced outpatient clinic, you'll greet patients warmly, process check-ins, handle insurance questions, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate medical records—serving as the welcoming first touchpoint in the orthopedic patient experience.

What You'll Do

• Register new and established patients, collecting and verifying demographics and insurance information accurately
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments using clinic management systems
• Answer patient inquiries regarding billing, insurance eligibility, and appointment logistics
• Verify insurance coverage and patient benefits prior to clinical visits
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance when handling protected health information
• Resolve front-desk issues and escalate complex patient concerns to appropriate staff members
• Support clinical teams by updating patient records and preparing documentation for providers

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical office or healthcare experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer-service skills with diverse patient populations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinic environment
• Detail-oriented approach to patient registration and insurance verification
• Professional demeanor and commitment to patient confidentiality

Compensation and Schedule

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week on day shift. Salary range: $16.25 to $23.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
