About the Role
The Town of Marana seeks a dedicated Environmental Specialist to advance environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, and natural resource protection. In this role, you'll contribute to Marana's strategic vision of creating a vibrant, healthy community while preserving the region's natural heritage.
What You'll Do
- Support environmental compliance, permitting, and regulatory adherence across town operations and projects
- Develop and implement environmental sustainability initiatives aligned with town strategic priorities
- Conduct environmental assessments and research on local environmental issues and opportunities
- Serve as liaison between the Town and state and federal environmental agencies
- Engage the public on environmental programs, conservation efforts, and sustainable practices
- Evaluate environmental impacts of town projects and advise on mitigation strategies
- Maintain knowledge of current environmental regulations and best practices
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Science, or a related field
- Proven experience in environmental compliance, permitting, or conservation work
- Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and government agencies
