About the Role
This full-time, on-site position is based in Rillito, within Pima County, just northwest of Tucson. As a Water Operator I (Distribution), you will support the daily operation and upkeep of the municipal water distribution system, working alongside an experienced public services team committed to dependable infrastructure and excellent service for Marana residents and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in operating, monitoring, and maintaining components of the water distribution network
- Help install, repair, and service water mains, valves, hydrants, and meters
- Perform routine inspections and respond to service requests to keep the system running smoothly
- Support efforts to maintain water quality and meet applicable regulatory standards
- Keep accurate records of work performed and follow safe operating practices in the field
Qualifications
- Interest in a hands-on career in water distribution and public utilities
- Willingness to perform physical, outdoor field work in varied conditions
- Ability to follow safety protocols and work effectively as part of a team
- Eligibility to obtain relevant water distribution certifications as required for the role
