Part-time Faculty: Chemistry – 82534

St. Charles Community College is hiring a Part-time Chemistry Faculty Member to teach chemistry courses to students in Lake Saint Louis and the surrounding Saint Charles County region. About the Role

As a part-time chemistry instructor at St. Charles Community College, you'll deliver engaging chemistry instruction across our rigorous curriculum. You'll work collaboratively with our science department while maintaining the academic standards that have made SCC a leader in postsecondary education throughout the six-county service area.

What You'll Do

• Teach chemistry courses using evidence-based pedagogical methods and current laboratory techniques
• Develop and refine course materials, lesson plans, and assessments that engage diverse learners
• Conduct laboratory instruction and demonstrations to reinforce theoretical concepts
• Evaluate student work through grading, feedback, and constructive assessment
• Hold office hours and provide academic support to students outside the classroom
• Participate in departmental meetings and curriculum development initiatives
• Maintain expertise in chemistry and stay current with disciplinary advances

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related scientific discipline
• Demonstrated expertise in chemistry content and laboratory methods
• Teaching experience in chemistry or a related science (community college experience preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative college environment
