Onboarding / Security Engineer (WFH)

Prime System Solutions is seeking a full-time Onboarding / Security Engineer to join our team working remotely from Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. This role combines security best practices with effective employee onboarding processes to ensure both operational compliance and smooth team integration.

About This Position

As an Onboarding / Security Engineer, you will play a vital role in bridging our security infrastructure with our people operations. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from Johannesburg whilst contributing to a growing organisation that values security, efficiency, and employee experience equally. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining onboarding workflows that adhere to security protocols whilst maintaining an excellent candidate and new-hire experience.

Core Duties

• Develop and refine onboarding processes that integrate security requirements and compliance standards
• Manage identity and access provisioning for new team members across systems and platforms
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability reviews within onboarding workflows
• Collaborate with HR, IT, and security teams to ensure seamless, secure employee transitions
• Document and maintain onboarding procedures and security protocols
• Support employee offboarding with secure deprovisioning of access and data
• Monitor and improve onboarding systems for security gaps and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

• Experience with identity and access management (IAM) systems and security frameworks
• Knowledge of compliance standards relevant to employee data and system access
• Familiarity with onboarding platforms, HRIS systems, or similar tools
• Strong understanding of security best practices and risk mitigation
• Ability to communicate technical security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Excellent project management and organisational skills
• Experience working in remote or distributed team environments
