Music Graduate Assistant

Eastern Kentucky University is seeking a Music Graduate Assistant to support instructional and administrative activities within the College of Letters, Arts & Social Sciences on its Richmond campus.

About the Role

This part‑time graduate assistantship provides hands‑on experience in a university music setting while contributing to the academic mission of Eastern Kentucky University. The position is based on the Richmond campus for the Fall 2025 term and involves up to 20 hours of work per week without benefits.

What You'll Do

• Assist faculty with course preparation, including setting up audio/visual equipment and organizing instructional materials.
• Support ensemble rehearsals by managing schedules, distributing music, and maintaining practice spaces.
• Help maintain the music library, cataloging scores, recordings, and reference resources.
• Provide administrative support for department events, such as concerts, workshops, and guest artist visits.
• Participate in department meetings and contribute to ongoing projects that enhance the student learning experience.

What We're Looking For

• Current enrollment in a graduate music program or related field at Eastern Kentucky University.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with standard music office software and basic audio/visual technology.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse academic environment.
• Reliability and a commitment to fulfilling scheduled responsibilities each week.
