Assistant Professor, Aviation

Eastern Kentucky University is seeking a dedicated educator to join its Aviation program as an Assistant Professor, Aviation, based at the Richmond Campus in Richmond, Richmond County. This full-time, tenure-track faculty role offers the chance to shape the next generation of aviation professionals.

About the Role

As an Assistant Professor of Aviation at Eastern Kentucky University, you will teach within the Department of Justice, Safety & Military Science, part of the Division of Academic Affairs. This is a tenure-track appointment classified as exempt under the FLSA, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week or more on the Richmond Campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging undergraduate aviation instruction across assigned courses.
• Develop and update curriculum that reflects current standards and practices in the aviation field.
• Advise and mentor students pursuing careers in aviation.
• Contribute to scholarship, research, and professional activity consistent with tenure-track expectations.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service initiatives.

Qualifications

• Academic and professional credentials appropriate for a tenure-track faculty appointment in aviation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aviation principles and practices suited to higher education instruction.
• Commitment to teaching, student mentorship, and ongoing scholarly contribution.
• Ability to work on-site at the Richmond Campus; this is a non-driver, non-remote position.
