Lane County Behavioral Health is hiring two committed Mental Health Associate - Family Support Specialists to deliver compassionate, in-the-moment crisis support to individuals and families across Eugene, Lane County.
About the Role
This full-time, on-site position with Lane County serves a dual function within our behavioral health system. As a Mental Health Associate - Family Support Specialist (FSS), you will operate as a frontline responder for our Mobile Crisis Service (MCS) program while also carrying a case management role within the newly launched Mobile Response Stabilization Services (MRSS) program. The two roles work hand in hand, allowing you to support people through acute moments and then help them stabilize over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond as a mobile crisis team member through the Mobile Crisis Service (MCS) program, meeting individuals and families wherever a crisis arises.
- Provide qualified mental health associate-level assessment, de-escalation, and support during behavioral health emergencies.
- Carry a case management role within the Mobile Response Stabilization Services (MRSS) program, a new addition to Lane County's continuum of care.
- Coordinate follow-up services, resources, and stabilization planning for families after the initial crisis response.
- Collaborate closely with fellow responders, clinicians, and community partners to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Eligibility to serve as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) under applicable standards.
- Experience or training in family support, crisis response, or behavioral health case management.
- Strong assessment, communication, and de-escalation skills suited to high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work as part of a coordinated mobile response team serving the Eugene area.
