Finance Writer – BMW of El Cajon

BMW of El Cajon, part of the Sunroad Auto family, is hiring a full-time Finance Writer to join its dealership team in El Cajon, San Diego County — a key role at the intersection of customer experience and automotive finance.

About the Role

As a Finance Writer at BMW of El Cajon, you'll own the financial closing process for vehicle transactions — guiding buyers through financing and leasing options, preparing and processing loan documentation, and ensuring every deal is executed accurately and in full compliance with applicable regulations. You'll be a trusted resource for customers making one of their most significant financial decisions.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate customer financing and leasing needs and present tailored options from our lender network
• Complete and submit credit applications on behalf of customers, working directly with financial institutions to secure approvals
• Prepare, review, and process all retail installment contracts, lease agreements, and related finance documents with precision
• Explain loan terms, payment structures, and aftermarket products such as service contracts and protection packages in clear, customer-friendly language
• Ensure every transaction adheres to federal and California state compliance requirements, including Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) standards
• Collaborate closely with the sales team to deliver a seamless handoff and consistent customer experience from purchase to funding
• Maintain organized deal jackets and accurate records to support timely funding and audit readiness
• Handle DMV and title documentation as required to complete the vehicle delivery process

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in automotive finance, F&I, or a closely related dealership role strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of dealership financing and leasing products and lender programs
• Familiarity with compliance obligations governing consumer auto finance transactions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — you can simplify complex financial terms for any audience
• High attention to detail and accuracy when handling contracts and sensitive customer data
• Ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously in a fast-paced retail environment
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
