What You'll Do
- Investigate potential medical malpractice claims and evaluate case merit based on medical records, expert opinions, and applicable standards of care
- Conduct thorough legal research, including case law, regulatory standards, and procedural requirements specific to medical malpractice litigation
- Prepare and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents with attention to detail and persuasive clarity
- Represent clients in settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings
- Manage case timelines, deadlines, and discovery processes while maintaining organized client communication
- Collaborate with medical experts and retain specialists as needed to strengthen case development
- Advocate aggressively for clients' interests while upholding ethical obligations and professional standards
What We're Looking For
- Active bar admission in good standing (California preferred, or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience handling complex medical malpractice cases from inception through resolution
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex medical and legal information
- Proven courtroom advocacy experience and comfort presenting arguments before judges and juries
- Knowledge of medical negligence standards, damages calculation, and relevant procedural rules
- Excellent client management and communication abilities
- Strategic thinking and sound judgment in case evaluation and litigation decisions
