Media Relations Strategist with Security Clearance

Lockheed Martin seeks a Media Relations Strategist with Security Clearance to join our Arlington, Tarrant County facility, supporting the Missiles and Fire Control division. In this full-time position, you'll lead media engagement initiatives that communicate the impact and innovation of our defense systems to key audiences, working closely with the Manager of Media Relations.

About the Role

You'll serve as the strategic voice connecting Missiles and Fire Control to the media landscape, translating advanced technology and mission-critical achievements into clear, compelling narratives. This role bridges technical accomplishment and public understanding, positioning our business area as a trusted authority in defense innovation.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement media relations strategies that advance business visibility and stakeholder awareness
• Develop press releases, media fact sheets, and communications materials for organizational leadership
• Engage with journalists and media contacts covering defense, aerospace, and security sectors
• Manage media inquiries, interviews, and press events with professionalism and accuracy
• Track media coverage and industry trends; advise leadership on communications opportunities and risks
• Partner with colleagues across marketing, public affairs, and business operations on integrated messaging
• Prepare executives for media interactions and high-visibility communications

What We're Looking For

• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
• 3+ years of professional experience in media relations, public relations, or strategic communications
• Excellence in writing and the ability to explain technical concepts to general audiences
• Track record of building and maintaining productive relationships with media professionals
• Understanding of defense, aerospace, or regulated industry communications preferred
• Ability to work on-site at our Arlington, Tarrant County location
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
