Hitachi Energy is hiring a Market Manager, High Voltage UK to take the helm of its High Voltage Products business across the United Kingdom. This remote-based leadership role puts you at the centre of commercial strategy, customer engagement, and team performance for one of the energy sector's most influential brands.
About the Role
As Market Manager, High Voltage UK, you will steer the local business unit from commercial development through to market positioning, serving as the vital link between customers, the wider market, and Hitachi Energy's internal teams. Reporting to the Demand Marketing & Sales Manager for Northern Europe, you will lead a cross-functional group of roughly 15 to 25 sales, tendering, and support specialists, holding full P&L ownership for the UK High Voltage portfolio. Please note that visa sponsorship, including graduate visas, is not available for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and execute the UK market strategy in step with Hub Europe goals, driving growth across the HV portfolio.
- Develop priority segments including TSOs, DNOs, EPCs, data centres, and renewables.
- Promote the complete HV range — GIS, AIS, LTB, Hybrid, Power Quality, and EconiQ solutions.
- Own senior customer relationships and lead complex deals, including pricing and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate sales, tendering, project management, and factories to keep delivery aligned.
- Manage order intake, revenue, margin, and cash, leading budgeting and forecasting activity.
- Mentor sales managers and developing professionals while championing safety and integrity.
Qualifications
- A degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; strong technical experience may substitute a business management background.
- Ideally 10+ years across HV business, sales, or market management.
- A record of leading teams and business units in cross-functional settings.
- Proven exposure to High Voltage substations, EPC projects, or comparable technologies.
- Solid grasp of the UK energy landscape, including National Grid, DNOs, and EPCs.
- Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
- Readiness to travel within the UK and internationally as the role demands.
