Legal Engineer (Transactional or In-house)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AI technology client seeking a Legal Engineer for their Munich office. This role combines legal expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, supporting the adoption of enterprise AI solutions within law firms and corporate legal departments across German-speaking markets.

As a Legal Engineer, you will bridge the gap between legal practice and technology implementation. You'll work directly with partners, associates, and in-house counsel to demonstrate how AI solutions enhance specific workflows—from contract drafting and due diligence to legal research and document analysis. This is a founding team member position in Germany, offering significant impact on market strategy and revenue growth.

Responsibilities

• Engage with English- and German-speaking lawyers at law firms and corporate legal departments to understand workflow challenges and demonstrate relevant AI solutions
• Conduct tailored product demonstrations for various practice groups and in-house teams, validating use cases and showcasing applicable features
• Establish credibility by applying your legal background to solve specific problems across transactional work, research, contract analysis, corporate governance, and due diligence
• Partner with account executives throughout the sales process, securing the "legal win" through consultative relationships and targeted education sessions
• Collaborate with marketing to develop practice-area-specific content that resonates with legal professionals
• Act as Voice of the Customer, synthesizing feedback for product and sales teams through a legal lens
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform go-to-market strategy

What We're Looking For

• JD or equivalent legal qualification
• Fluency in both German and English
• Minimum 3 years practicing law at a top-tier law firm (Vault 50 or equivalent), preferably with transactional, in-house, or transformation experience
• Executive presence and ability to establish credibility with decision-makers at all levels
• Outstanding presentation skills for both legal and executive audiences, comfortable with impromptu discussions and formal demonstrations
• Strong understanding of legal workflows and challenges faced by legal professionals
• Curiosity about AI's potential to transform legal practice
• Sales or customer-facing experience is a plus, including business development, client secondments, or direct client relationship management
• Must have valid German work rights; visa sponsorship is not available for this role
