Lead, Data Operations Global Expansion

Figure is building autonomous, general-purpose humanoid robots powered by artificial intelligence. We're hiring a Lead, Data Operations Global Expansion based in San Jose, California to direct our worldwide expansion and establish new data collection sites across continents.

Role Overview

You will drive Figure's strategic expansion into new geographies, leading a dedicated team that transforms each market from zero to fully operational. This is a zero-to-one challenge: you'll own the complete journey—from site selection and local setup through establishment of sustainable operations—while building repeatable systems that accelerate future launches. Your work directly enables our roboticists and engineers to collect the diverse, high-quality data that powers our humanoid robots' intelligence globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct a global team establishing new data operations hubs in target regions, managing every aspect from legal entity formation to facility operations and local hiring
• Design and refine the expansion operating system that serves as a blueprint for each new market, continuously shortening timelines and improving reliability
• Develop expansion metrics and dashboards, monitoring quality and volume across all sites and rapidly addressing operational constraints
• Forge and nurture partnerships with local vendors, agencies, and community stakeholders to accelerate market entry
• Bridge new operations teams with Figure's engineering and product organizations, translating on-the-ground insights into product improvements and escalating infrastructure needs
• Recruit, mentor, and scale the operations leadership team as expansion accelerates across continents

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of operations leadership in scaling startups or multinational enterprises
• Demonstrated success launching operations in international markets
• Strong track record of owning measurable business outcomes from conception to execution
• Exceptional communication abilities—both written and verbal—particularly across cultures and time zones
• Comfort with ambiguity and skill managing multiple concurrent workstreams, geographies, and stakeholder groups
• Full commitment to five days per week in-office at our North San Jose headquarters
• Bonus qualifications: Background in machine learning or AI companies; familiarity with data collection for model training; fluency in Spanish or Arabic; hands-on experience with physical-world or supply chain operations

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000–$160,000 annually. Actual compensation is determined based on role-specific qualifications, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include additional benefits as part of a formal offer.
