About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential AI research organization seeking a Kubernetes Task Auditor for a fully remote contract engagement. This role focuses on evaluating infrastructure-as-code scenarios and cluster operations to ensure production-quality training data for machine learning systems.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the quality and correctness of Kubernetes tasks used in AI model training and evaluation
- Assess cluster-operations scenarios and manifest correctness against production standards
- Troubleshoot failure modes and provide clear, rubric-based feedback on infrastructure scenarios
- Review and improve AI model performance by ensuring production-readiness of containerized workloads
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet project deadlines
What We're Looking For
Must-Have:
- 3+ years hands-on production Kubernetes experience with managed services (EKS/GKE/AKS) or self-managed clusters
- Deep understanding of cluster internals including CNI/DNS/ingress, PV/PVC storage, RBAC, and failure modes (CrashLoopBackOff, OOMKilled, scheduling/eviction)
- Proven experience authoring and reviewing Kubernetes manifests or Helm charts and debugging live cluster incidents
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or TypeScript
Preferred:
- CKA or CKAD certification
- Service-mesh, autoscaling, and observability experience with tools like Istio, HPA, or Prometheus/Grafana
- Prior SRE, platform-engineering, or task-grading experience
